About LDC

The Laser Display and Lighting Conference (LDC) is an international forum dedicated to laser displays, laser lighting, and related technologies. Since its inception, LDC has been held in various locations: the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th to 8th, 12th and 13th conferences took place in Yokohama, Japan (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017–2019, 2023, 2024), while the 3rd was held in Taichung, Taiwan (2014), and the 5th in Jena, Germany (2016). The 9th, 10th, and 11th conferences were held in a hybrid format, and the 14th was hosted in Ireland.

Beginning this year, the conference has been renamed the Laser Display, Imaging and Lighting Conference (LDC2026) to reflect its expanding scope. LDC2026 aims to serve as a premier forum for sharing the latest advancements in laser display, imaging, and lighting technologies—spanning fundamental research through to system development and practical applications. The conference is sponsored by the Optical Society of Japan, in cooperation with several academic societies and professional associations.
